About Me
I retired in 2006 at the rank of Master Sergeant after serving for 22 years in the United States Army and Marines, including a tour of duty in Iraq. Over the course of my service, I earned many medals, including the Bronze Star, the Legion of Merit, and both the US Army Parachutist and the Australian Parachutist Wings.
Since my retirement, I have taken an active role in the Whitewater community, serving as an Assistant Coach for the Whitewater High School football team and an adviser for the Whitewater High School Key Club. I also serve as the Commander of the Whitewater Veterans of Foreign Wars (Post 5470), President of the Whitewater Kiwanis Club, and an active member of the Whitewater American Legion, the 82nd Airborne Division Association, and the Wisconsin Farm Bureau. I have also volunteered for the Special Olympics and the National Veterans’ Wheelchair Basketball Games.
After my service, I attended UW-Whitewater, graduating summa cum laude in May 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. During my time at UW-Whitewater, I performed student teaching at Milton and Whitewater High Schools and Williams Bay Elementary School. I hold certification to teach K-12 in Physical Education, Adaptive Physical Education, Health, and Driver’s Education. I currently teach Driver’s Education in nearby New Glarus, Wisconsin.
I have been happily married to my wife, Annette, for over 20 years. We have one daughter, Michelle.
